The Pimpled Fox

Prerequisites for reading this post: Basic knowledge of colloquial kannada is must.

"Avanobba Mul handi matte genda mruga cross thara iddane..nodidre uriyatte.." my colleague started off..describing using the choicest word..a poor new joinee at office..I was like..wowww ..what did u just say??

Colleague(C): yeah this new guy..havent u seen him?
Dee: No nooo..before that..what was that genda stuff ? :)

C: Genda mruga kane gotthilva..ayyooo
Dee: Noooo...enadu..

C: i think it means Rhino..not too sure..
Dee: ...amazing..Genda Mruga :) my word of the day..and whats Mul Handi (it literally means thorn pig)

C: Oh thats porcupine.. his hairdo is like that u see..
Dee: Lol..Sooperrrr...How come I never ever came across such cool kannada words. All i ever used was kothi..katte..goobe..how boringggggggg..

This conversation really got me on a roll. Went on a wild spree to collect animal names in kannada which could be usedstrategically on unsuspecting souls :) uhahahahhahhahah

Came back to my desk..pinged 2 kannada pundits i knew from college..started off with

"Lo Mul handi enaiyya maadthaidiiya.."
Frend 1(F1): Yappaaaaa enidu?

Dee: uhahahahhhhaha soopperr alva..genda mruga uhahahhhaha
F1: eneee ayithu ninigay
Dee: How come you never taught me all these wrds back in our college days.. It would have been soooo goood. Imagine all the names I could have called you..sigh*..

F1: Adikke..gothhitthu ..
Dee: Grrrrrrrrr
F1: enamma neer aane..
Dee: enadu
F1: not gonna tell u..

Dee pings frend 2 (F2)

dee: Le neer aane andre enu? gottha
F2: Hippo kane..yake..yaramma karidru hangantha..
Dee: #$%#$^%@%$&^ ..tell me some kannada animal name ..bega bega..
F2: hmmmm...Gulle nari :) jackal antha

Dee: WHAT.. GULLE NARI LOL ..Sooperrrrrrr..i love it
Pings F1
Dee: U..U....GULLE NARI :) uahhahhha..

That is really hilarious ! Yeah I too enjoy using animals as analogies to describe something in everyday life. I have few to add ..
- Emme thara bidkondidane (for a lazy guy who is sleeping)
- Hucchnayee thara kacchakke bandbitta (an angry peson who yells)
- Hebbavinthara sikkiddella nungbittu algadakke agthilla (when you over eat)
- Lo solle yak hage nanna rakta heerthidiya ?
